From Beach Classes to Beach Teacher Training

For more than a decade, Tybee Yoga & Healing Arts has been known for bringing yoga beyond the studio and onto the beautiful beaches of Tybee Island.
Now, we're excited to take the next step.
I'm thrilled to announce the first enrollment in our new Beach Yoga Certification add-on, offered during a Tybee Wellness Retreat! This 15-hour Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP) training allows yoga teachers and yoga teacher trainees to earn continuing education credits while enjoying a relaxing coastal retreat.
This certification is designed to bridge the gap between teaching in a traditional studio and confidently leading classes in natural outdoor environments.
What You'll Learn
Beach yoga is much more than taking a yoga mat to the sand. Outdoor teaching requires flexibility, awareness, and the ability to adapt to constantly changing conditions.
During the certification, participants learn how to:
Teach confidently on sand and other natural surfaces
Adapt classes for weather, tides, wind, and changing outdoor conditions
Sequence and modify yoga safely for beach settings
Project their voice and manage outdoor groups
Practice responsible coastal stewardship and Leave No Trace principles
Build and market successful outdoor yoga experiences
The training is thoughtfully woven into the retreat experience through guided mentorship, participation in beach yoga classes, hands-on instruction, teaching discussions, and a post-retreat online mentoring session.
Participants enjoy the full retreat while gaining practical experience and earning 15 Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits.
Beach Yoga Certification Add-On
The certification is currently offered as an optional add-on to select Tybee Wellness Retreats.
Founding Teacher Rate – $350 (ask if this is still being offered)
This special launch pricing includes the complete certification in exchange for participating in our founding program by allowing training photos, providing a testimonial, writing a short reflection, and leaving Google reviews for Tybee Wellness Retreats and Tybee Yoga & Healing Arts. Participants also receive professional training photos to use in their own marketing.
Standard Tuition – $500
Includes the complete 15-hour Beach Yoga Certification with no marketing participation required.
